After making his MLB debut with Philadelphia in 2020 and later pitching for the Dodgers, he joined the Rays and became a regular part of their relief group.

His 2026 season has included 51 appearances and 54 strikeouts through early September. Before landing on the injured list with left forearm tightness, Cleavinger had already contributed plenty of innings to a Rays bullpen that has been an important part of Tampa Bay's season.
